Support for adult survivors of child sexual abuse, and the people close to them
Child sexual abuse can shape a life long after it ends. You may have carried it for years, or only recently found the words for it. There is no right time to ask for help, and you do not have to prove anything to us. You decide what to share and how fast to go.
Who this page is for
- Adults aged 18 and over who experienced sexual abuse as a child.
- Partners, parents, brothers, sisters and other family members who support a survivor, or who are affected by what has happened.
How we can help
- Therapy at your pace, online across the UK or in person where available.
- Space to talk about trauma, shame, trust, relationships, closeness and anger.
- Support for family members who are trying to understand, or who are coping with their own feelings.
What to expect
We start with a first conversation about what you want, what therapy involves and whether we are the right people to help. You can ask any question. You can stop at any time. Therapy is confidential within the limits of safeguarding and the law, as explained in our privacy notice.
One thing we want you to hear from us
In the interests of child protection and harm reduction, Empowerment Pathways also works with people who have offended. Strict protocols and procedures are in place to keep our survivor work and our offender work completely separate.
If you are under 18
We offer therapy to adults. If you are under 18, or you are a parent or carer worried about a child or young person, please get in touch. We will talk through the options with you, including who else may be better placed to help.
